To find and install default Microsoft fonts on a Mac: Navigate HERE in your browser. Download the.ZIP file. Unzip it (double-click it). Open the folder that appears. Select all the.TTF files inside the folder. With the files selected, right-click. From the pop-up menu, choose 'open.
You bring up a fundamental compatibility problem with iWorks applications on the Mac versus Microsoft’s Office suite on the Mac: while the file format of MS Word, for example, is understood by Mac Pages, there are fonts that are included as part of MS Office that aren’t actually part of the default font set on a Mac. When I try to select and copy text in the Calibri font from a PDF file and paste it into Microsoft Word or a text editor, the result is simply a series of garbled characters. I have encountered this problem with Acrobat Professional 8 on machines running Windows XP and Mac OS X (both 10.4 and 10.5).
Are you quite sure you haven't used Calibri on the Pc? The warning wouldn't have mentioned that font if it hadn't been used in the document. I thought Calibri was the default Word font nowadays. Maybe it is in the documents styles.
I don't know of any batch converting of all the documents. Best would be that when you open one of the documents that you select all text and change the font to one you want and then save it as a Pages document. Next time it shouldn't pop up an error message. It will still pop up if you continue to use the Word document though.
Whenever I start Pages I get the message about the missing Calibri Font. I recently switched from PC to Mac, so almost all of my Docs came with me. I did however convert them all to Pages Files because I totally ditched MS. Nov 29, 2015 Very easily, actually. On the Type menu select Find Font. Highlight Calibri in the list and choose the replacement you want in the list below. Check the 'Redefine Style When Changing All' box, too. Click Change All. You may have to run a few replace operations, replacing each style or weight of Calibri with Museo (e.g. Calibri Italic, Bold, etc.). The question was - Is there a good alternative or clone to the Calibri font? I have my own preferences, but I’ll defer to this list of free alternatives: 5 free Calibri alternatives so you never use that font again. Thanks for the A2A. So when we open a Word file with Pages, we do not see any warning messages like: The Calibri font is not available on OS X. It Was Replaced with Times New Roman. Download Microsoft Office Fonts for OS X Pages, Numbers, Keynotes.

Answer by Joe Friend, Sr. Program Manager at Microsoft, on Quora,I managed the Word PM team during Office 2007. Our team championed this change. There were two key reasons to support the change:
1. Growth of digital consumption. We believed that more and more documents would never be printed but would solely be consumed on a digital device. Given we started this work in 2003 (long before Surface, iPhone, iPad, Kindle, etc.) this was a somewhat controversial opinion (more when it would happen, not if).
To support digital consumption the new fonts were created to improve screen readability. They do this via a technology called ClearType. You can learn more about that ClearType here: ClearType Overview. There is an excellent blog post from the Engineering Windows 7 blog that gives additional detail on the ClearType: Engineering Changes to ClearType in Windows 7
The collection of fonts introduced at this time are called the ClearType Font Collection.
2. At the time, Office was looking to modernize the look and feel of documents created by the Office applications. They hadn't changed substantially since the early 90s. Among many other improvements, the introduction of the new fonts had a big impact on the modern look. The use of san serif Calibri as our default body font (instead of the old standard Times New Roman) was one of the more controversial changes.
Calibri was just one of several fonts introduced at the time (ClearType Font Collection). Many other ClearType fonts for various languages have been released since. New Fonts in Windows 7
